City of Toronto, North York Community Scholarship
This scholarship was established to honour York University’s 25th anniversary and its contribution to North York. The scholarship will be awarded to a student from a North York secondary school entering the first year of a full-time undergraduate program. Criteria for the scholarship winner are high academic standing and/or demonstrated financial need, combined with a history of community involvement and an interest in urban studies.
Scholarship for Outstanding Community Work in the Spanish Speaking Community
This scholarship will be granted to an undergraduate student who is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, and a resident of Ontario, and who demonstrates financial need. The recipient of this scholarship will have achieved a minimum admission average of 80% (or equivalent). Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated leadership in youth lead social or cultural activities that contribute to communities or organizations where Spanish is a primary language. Where no candidate of preference applies, selection will be based on the balance of the criteria. The recipient must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, and resident of Ontario, who demonstrates financial need.
M.A.T.A. Entrance Award
The M.A.T.A. Entrance Award has been created to support students entering York University who are involved in community service or extra-curricular activities that generate networking and improvement of social skills. The recipient must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, a resident of Ontario and demonstrate financial need.
